Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers at Good Shepherd Services are a vital part of our team, providing group and individual services to the residents of Good Shepherd Home and tenants of Meadow Wood Residential Care Apartments.

Individuals are always needed to conduct and assist with the following programs:

  • Music Activities

  • Religious Programs

  • Exercise Groups

  • Birthday and Holiday Parties

  • Outings

  • Small Group Activities

 

  • Card and Table Games

  • Active Games

  • Socials

  • Intergenerational Programs

  • Special Functions

  • Cooking

More specific activities include:

  • Accompany residents to medical appointments

  • Assist residents outdoors

  • Staff Porchside Giftshop

  • Act as a "Special Visitor" to provide companionship

  • Serve with the "Companionship for the Dying" Program

  • Bring in a pet for a visit or as a part of our Barnyard Animals Activity Program

  • Read mail, a magazine or the newspaper to a resident

  • Share musical talent, a favorite hobby or collection

  • Play cards or games

  • Work with a resident on the computer
