COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Community Support Agency

Established in 1985, the Community Support Agency provides an array of supportive services to assist people in their home. Homemakers assist with services such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, companionship, shopping and other errands, while Caregivers tend to personal needs including Rise `n Tuck, nail and skin care, bathing and grooming. The Community Support Agency is available to people with physical limitations who are unable to maintain their home by themselves. It is also available to people who are simply too busy and need some extra help.
Transportation services are also available in a limited (30 mile radius of GSS) service area for a nominal fee. Call for current rates.
The Community Support Agency also coordinates the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program held at the Seymour Schools Aquatic Center. People suffering from arthritis will enjoy the heated pool and benefit from the specially designed exercises led by trained personnel. The water's buoyancy and resistance helps improve joint flexibility, while the warm water and gentle movements help to relieve pain and stiffness. The program was developed by the Arthritis Foundation and the YMCA of the USA. It is not necessary to know how to swim, although participants are encouraged to check with their physician about the need for special precautions. For more information, please contact the Community Support Agency at 920.833.7746.
The Community Support Agency also coordinates the Generations Adult Day Center, held in the Meadow Wood Learning Center, for individuals 18 years and older. The goal of the program is to provide activities, socialization, and supervision for elderly who may be frail or isolated and people with disabilities 18 years of age and older. The program also provides a relief or respite for care givers. Bathing services can be provided. For more information, please contact the Community Support Agency at 920.833.7746
"I've used Good Shepherd's
Community Support Agency
for about six years. They
help me clean, cook and shop,
if I want them to. I like the
fact that I'm billed monthly.
The caregivers are friendly
and professional and I look
forward to their visits."
